Akinloye Oyebanji, Veteran Nigerian sports journalist and resigned Director of Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), has passed away at 62 years of age.
His family affirmed that Oyebanji passed on at the National Hospital, Abuja, on Saturday July 27th morning after an extended fight with a heart failure.
Bukoye Oyebanji and Steve Olarinoye, relative and best friend, unveiled that Oyebanji had been sick for just about four months now and the family had burned through a huge number of naira to spare his existence with no improvement. They said some time back, he had the disaster of losing his kidneys, and they were supplanted effectively through a transplant in India.
Late Oyebanji served the NTA for a long time in various limits, including being a games telecaster, and later as General Manager (Sports). He resigned as Managing Director of NTA Properties at the specialist’s central command in Abuja. Oyebanji hailed from Kwara State and he’s made due by four youngsters and a spouse.
