Alhaji Garba Salihu, Chairman of Dandi Local Government Area of Kebbi, on Thursday said no less than 40 houses and an optional school were crushed by heavy rain in the zone.
As per the News Agency of Nigeria, Salihu said that the occurrence occurred on Monday when overwhelming precipitation, with solid breeze exploded the houses and rendered the exploited people powerless.
“When I got the report, I raced to the region to perceive what occurred and sympathized with the people in question.
“It was a miserable scene since relatives of more than 40 family units were unstuck by the substantial downpour, even the material of the Shiko Secondary School in the region was gone,” he bemoaned.
Salihu clarified that his chamber helped the exploited people with some money and promptly gathered the rundown of those influenced and sent to the state government for help through the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA).
He spoke to Gov. Atiku Bagudu to go to the guide of the unfortunate casualties so as to ease their sufferings.
The Village Head of Shiko, Yahaya Ibrahim, additionally spoke to both the state and Federal Government to go to the guide of the people in question, who by and by have no where to remain with their families.
One of the people in question, Attahiru Musa, said his two spouses and 12 kids have been remaining in the open with no where to go.
“As should be obvious, we have no spot to slender our bodies on, everything has gone, we anyway beg the neighborhood and state government to help us,” he said.
